Students must be available for all sessions, which will be conducted physically at Temasek Polytechnic.
What is AR?
Augmented Reality (AR) is a new technology that will power many of the ways we interact, socialise, communicate, live, and work in our future. In AR, digital elements are integrated into the real world, enhancing our physical experiences in real life.Join our Meta Spark Bootcamp to be at the forefront of this new technology, where students will learn how to create AR Effects and share them with the world on their mobile devices through Instagram and Facebook.

Learning Objectives
This 4 day programme exposes students to the fundamentals of Augmented Reality (AR) development using Meta Spark Studio, and learn how to create AR Effects to drive impactful storytelling.Meta Spark is one of the leading software used in creating AR Effects for social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. By learning Meta Spark, students will be equipped with transferable foundational skills in AR that are relevant to industries and roles in creative media, marketing, communications, campaigns, community-building and public education.
At the end of this programme, students will be able to:
Explain what Augmented Reality (AR) is
Identify, describe and create 3 different types of AR Effects - Face Tracker, Target Tracker, Plane Tracker
Apply fundamental concepts of AR development to create simple AR Effects using Meta Spark Studio
Apply fundamental concepts in storytelling to design an AR Effect
Create and publish a simple AR Effect for Instagram (and/or Facebook)
Competition and Prizes
Join our bootcamp to enter our nationwide AR competition, jointly held by Meta and MeshMinds. At the end of the bootcamp, students will create an original AR Effect as a final project to enter the competition.
Prizes will be up for grabs.

*Students are highly encouraged to bring their own laptop/macbook and smartphone.
If you do not own a laptop/MacBook, please indicate in the registration form.
Requirements
- Windows laptops or MacBooks are supported (iPads and Chromebooks are not supported).- Smartphones are highly recommended for testing out the AR effects, but optional.See Meta Spark System Requirements.
Graduation Ceremony
Students will also be invited to attend the graduation ceremony at Meta office in November 2023.Attendance at the graduation ceremony is optional but highly recommended.
